Bird House in Winter

This is one of my favorite pictures that I have captured.

The 1st and for most reason is that it reminds me of my grandma & grandpa's farm back in South Dakota.

It was a place that I grew up visiting every summer. It was not until I was older that I appreciated all the personal touches that my grandparents had added to the farm. When my grandpa finally sold the farm to move into town we took a trip to see it for the last time, as the new owners were removing the house, barn, out buildings along with its surrounding trees. So we were able to take items that grandpa did not need in town. The things that intreged me the most were the old farm elements such as an old window frame off the chicken coup, an old shovel & fork and 2 of the birdhouses that my Grandpa had made many years ago. He had a whole row of them along the driveway, which had stood there for years.

My Grandpa will be 103 on February 10th. He is in my thoughts every day and my 2 bird house from the farm are in my green house to remind me of the farm house that contained so many family memories.

Christmas Tree

Today we put up our Christmas Tree.

Rob will be putting our lighted trees and deers outside later today.

My next goal for the weekend will be finishing putting my Christmas Cards together. They are all stamped & cut out, I just need to finish assembling them.

Next will be to get them signed, addressed and in the mail.
I enjoy creating homemade cards. I hope people enjoy receiving them as much as I love making them.

A Peacefull Trip

After spending time with my family on Thanksgiving Day, Rob & I headed up to Sumpter Oregon for a peaceful weekend. We had taken a drive up that direction in the fall and discovered some nice cozy cabins located in Sumpter. The Scoop and Steamer Cabin was a nice way to spend a relaxing weekend. I was hoping for snow but with no avail but we took a drive along the river, we also took a walk on the old train tracks which they still use for the Sumpter Train. We have visited Sumpter several times during the spring & summer for their big flee market they hold every Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day weekends. It was nice to visit Sumpter without all the crowds of people.

Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland Snowquami Pass

Something New

I am trying something new.
My friend Michelle has a great blog for which I visit regularly. She sent me instuctions about a year ago. I have saved that email this long intending to use it to help me set up my own blog. So lo and behold I am finally getting around to it.
I think I will have fun blogging. I am hoping I will grow from this experience as it will be a great tool to help me learn how to put thoughts in writing, share my love of photography, my love of stamping with others. Big Smiles to you. B.
